Jim

What's up?"  Just got back from 30 days of leave, good time.   Have you received any info on the KIa's, if not let me know and I'll dig up what you need.

Charlie is at the 58 in LV, he had a brief encounter with the 24 at BIAP, but the the thief was run down by a quad and Charlie got on a helo and escaped back to LV.

Talk to you soon

Jim,

I updated some of the Information on Jason Cunningham, Mike Maltz and Jason Plite.  We are still tracking down their medals.

I also included pictures of Charlie over the skies of Iraq.  One of the F-16 pilots we (38 ERQS--comprised of CROs and PJs from 38 RQS Moody AFB and 58 RQS Nellis AFB) were deployed with - Raizin, took Charlie on what I believe was his first F-16 Ride.  The extract and 781 is at Nellis, they were in the process of getting it framed when Charlie was absconded from them. Pictures of Charlie at the Brief, flying, and upon return. Hope this all helps. Charlie is now at the 24th STS and didn't show up at the Activation of the  3rd CRO-led PJ squadron in July or at the last PJ/CRO graduation.  A major foul!!  I think the Chiefs need to get involved.

We at the 38th thoroughly appreciated Chief Malone's gesture and in turn, brought Charlie to every event in our brief tenure with him.  We brought him to 58 RQS stand-up with the intent of presenting him to them, but alas they beat us to the punch, using cunning and ingenuity got him out of one of the hotel rooms.  They inturn brought him to he next PJ grad, and to the War in Iraq, where he flew all over with us, and ended up in Baghdad.  We had an understanding between the 58th and 38th, that he came with the 58th to War and he would return with them.  I gave my word to Maj Johnson at the beginning.  Our combined unit was then able to take him everywhere.

He now resides at the 24th, and has since missed the 31st RQS activation and the last PJ grad, who knows when we will see him again.

I think it 's time to do what Chief Malone says, all the physical abuse has got to stop.  Charlie was almost permanently destroyed at the last reunion; he no longer has fins, broken ear, all badges and stickers put on throughout the years lost or destroyed.  A lot of history gone.

I agree...

I think it is time, in this "new world" to re-establish some guidelines for the care and handling of Charlie. I propose that if Charlie is taken from a unit with brute force rather than stealth, it should be the gaining team chief's responsibility to give him back to said unit and take a minute to remind his men of the intent of taking Charlie. We, at the 123 STS graciously brought Charlie to Moody for the Squadron stand up and GAVE him to the team. I did that with the intent of it becoming a new tradition. Obviously that was taken too lightly by the other team chiefs and should also be addressed. We have put too many guys in the hospital and showed our collective asses in front of too many retirees to continue the tradition in this manner. Just my thoughts...
